French Guiana is a state under the rule of the French government and thus subject to the laws, rules and regulations of France. The Head of State of French Guiana is the President of the French Republic, François Gérard Georges Nicolas Hollande, While the head of Government is The Prime Minister of France, Jean-Marc Ayrault. The French government holds all power in regards to the defensive capabilities and international-relations of French Guiana.
The President of France Appoints a prefect to head the government of French Guiana to act as head of government. The French Guyanese Government is split into two different groups, a general council and a regional council.
